Dickson Commends PDP Aspirants, Delegates For Peaceful Conduct At Primaries

Governor of Bayelsa State, Hon. Henry Seriake
Dickson over the weekend in Sagbama Town,
in Sagbama Local Government Area in the
state said the time has come for the people of
the state to renounce those who encourage
and breed violence in elections.
He gave the advise during the Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) Federal House of
Representatives Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal
Constituency primaries in Sagbama, which
saw the emergence of Hon. Fred Agbedi as
the winner with 100 votes, while Gimbra
Pamowei came second with 6 votes.
Congratulating the winner, Governor Dickson
described Hon. Agbedi as a quality
representative that, will truly reflect the
views, wishes and aspirations of the people of
the constituency and commended both the
contestants and the delegates for their
peaceful conduct.
“Today we have yet again assembled to elect
another competent and credible candidate in
the person of Fred Agbedi. This time around,
we are sending grade ‘A’ representatives and
senators to work with Mr President.
“This is time to say no to those, who breed
violence, those whose brand of politics
revolves all around violence. At every election
time they assemble young men and arm them
with weapons, killing people, instead of
giving the youths skills and empowerment.
“Politics is not for those who want to kill our
people, but politics isfor those, who want to
serve our people”
In his remarks shortly after his emergence,
Hon. Agbedi expressed appreciation to the
people of the constituency for the confidence
reposed in him, adding that there was no
victor; no vanquished, as the victory was for
the people.
He promised to work for the party, the
restoration government of Hon Henry Seriake
Dickson, the people of the Sagbama/Ekeremor
federal constituency, in order to lay a solid
foundation for the progress of the state.
Also speaking, some political stakeholders and
delegates at the primary, including Dr. Stella
Dorgu of the House of Representatives, the
Majority Leader of the State House of
Assembly, Dr. Peter Akpe, Former Deputy
Governor of the State, Hon. Peremobowei
Ebebi, Boyelayefa Debekeme, all commended
the PDP for choosing competent persons to
represent the party, assuring that the party
will win the forthcoming general elections.
They equally pledged to work collectively to
ensure the party’s victory in next year’s
general elections.
