B’Haram kills 48 fish vendors

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents killed 48 fish vendors after setting up a roadblock near the country’s border with Chad, the head of the fish traders association told the Agence France- Presse on Sunday. “Scores of Boko Haram fighters blocked a route linking Nigeria with Chad near the fishing village of Doron Baga on the shores of Lake Chad on Thursday and killed a group of 48 fish traders on their way to Chad to buy fish,” AFP quoted Abubakar Gamandi, head of the fish traders association, as saying. Gamandi said the attackers set up a barricade at Dogon Fili, 15 kilometres from Doron Baga in Borno State, and stopped a convoy of fish vendors around midday, slaughtering some of them and drowning others in the lake. “The Boko Haram gunmen slit the throats of some of the men and tied the hands and legs of the others before throwing them into the lake to drown,” Gamandi told AFP by telephone from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital. Bombs uncovered on Egypt railway tracks

A charred body has been found near a train station in southern Egypt after a bomb exploded, as police uncovered three unexploded devices planted on railway tracks in the region. The blast took place on Saturday night in the town of Al-Wasta, in the province of Beni Suef, south of Cairo. The interior ministry said in a statement that the body probably belonged to the person who had planted the bomb. The unexploded bombs were found on railway lines linking Cairo to the far southern city of Aswan, the ministry said. Egypt has been hit by a wave of bombings and shootings since the military ousted President Mohamed Morsi in July 2013. Assailants have stepped up attacks targeting public transport, including a bomb last week on a train north of Cairo that killed two policemen and two passengers. On Thursday, four people were hurt in a stampede at the capital’s Ramses station after a blast inside a compartment of a train that pulled in from the Nile Delta, security offic

Jonathan to Obasanjo: I’m Nigeria’s best leader

President Goodluck Jonathan has described himself as the best leader to be produced by Nigeria. The President said no leader since the country gained independence in 1960 had done better than himself for the country. He, therefore, said the comment made by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, in which the ex-President described Jonathan’s performance as below average, was untrue. Jonathan said this in a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Affairs, Dr. Doyin Okupe, in Abuja on Sunday. Okupe’s statement read, “Our attention has been drawn to comments made by a former President of this country, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, regarding the performance of the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan. “Obasanjo had at an event over the weekend declared that he rated the President Goodluck Jonathan administration ‘below average’. “We aver that Obasanjo’s comments are untrue, misleading and clearly do not tally with the facts on the ground. “We therefore wish to

FFK calls Governor Amaechi pot bellied, house boy, monkey and cultist

In a post titled The Pot-bellied Creek Haramite And His Direct Threat, which he posted on Facebook, former Aviation minister Femi Fani Kayode slammed River State governor, Rotimi Amaechi, calling him a cultist, house boy and monkey. These our leaders have no chill sha..lol. What he wrote below.. ''If the PDP rig the election in 2015 we will not go to court and we will make the country ungovernable. We will form a parallel government and there will be anarchy''- Governor Rotimi Amaechi. It is time for the President to take off the kid gloves and put this pot-bellied little monkey in his place. Once a houseboy, always a houseboy. Once a cult member always a cult member. Once a peasant, always a peasant. But why are our leaders saying stuff like this? That there will be anarchy in this country? Continue... If Rotimi and his Haramite friends are looking for trouble then we should give it to them in full measure. It would be a pleasure.
